OUR PROUD HISTORY
Since our founding in 1993, Gonerby Youth FC has been at the heart of the local community. What started as a single team of enthusiastic youngsters has blossomed into one of Lincolnshire's premier grassroots clubs, dedicated to developing talent and fostering lifelong friendships through football.
The Early Years
GYFC were one of the first clubs in Lincolnshire to become a registered FA Mini Soccer Centre prior to the introduction of competitive small-sided football for children under 10 years of age.
Although the club has grown to a point where we provide football for around 250 youngsters we have done everything possible to maintain our ethos. GYFC endeavour to provide football for all who join us and to do this in a safe and secure environment. We try to ensure that the youngsters’ skills are developed through recognised coaching but that we never lose the essential element of enjoyment.
Growing the Game
Gonerby Youth Football Club has come a considerable way since April 1993. In our first season GYFC had two league teams. Now there are 18 league teams plus our incredibly popular Saturday morning U6 training sessions!
Present Day
Today, we host 18 league teams and hundreds of players. Our focus remains on the 'Gonerby Way' - playing with respect, competing with heart, and building a community we can all be proud of.
